Ksubi
Mixed Fashion
Ksubi has evolved into one of the most notorious and recognised labels in the world. For 11 years, ideas, individuality and authenticity has developed the Australian brand into an underground subculture, a lifestyle—an international presence with a cult following. The ksubi collective Dan Single, George Gorrow, Paul Wilson and Michael Nolan co-founders and directors of the brand, created ksubi as a culture of fashion, music and art.
Ksubi is not influenced by consumer trends and has inadvertently become a social commentator of its generation. “ksubi is a word to describe our movement and our creative collective. It has no other meaning that what we give it,” says Single and Gorrow.
The boys behind ksubi, their conceptual feats, topical fashion style and signature denim has led the brand to exponential popularity. In addition to their three stores in Sydney, two stores in Melbourne and one in Queensland there are plans to expand their retail offering globally with specific focus on the European, North American and Asian markets.
From live rats being released onto the catwalk in 2001, warehouse installations and late-night booty bar parties in 2002, boat shows with models walking the plank in 2003 and a motorbike rock chick calendar in 2004, to a futuristic-inspired parade closing Australian Fashion Week in 2005, post-apocalyptic inspired collection at 2007 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and the One Via Zero show in 2010, 2011 saw kolors clad girls facing off with muscle cars in the much hyped ksubi kolors film and the launch of Sex & Fashion, the online magazine created my ksubi.
