Safety and Preventative Measures in Centre

While things may be changing around us, one thing remains constant and that is our commitment to ensuring we are here for you when you need us. 

 

As we are all aware, the Premier has announced increased restrictions from 11:59pm Saturday 17th July 2021.

 

In line with this, a number of our stores will temporarily close to face to face service except the following who may remain open:

- Supermarkets and grocery stores (including butchers, bakeries, fruit and vegetable stores, liquor stores and fishmongers);

- Stores that predominantly sell health, medical, maternity and infant supplies;

- Pharmacies and chemists;  

- Petrol stations;

- Banks and financial institutions;

- Pet supplies;

- Post offices and newsagents; and

- Office supplies.

 

Many of our stores will continue to serve you via their online or click and collect channels to provide access to your much needed products and services. Please check with individual retailers regarding their trading during this time.

Physical distancing when in our centres

We recognise the critical importance of physical distancing. To help our community maintain physical distancing while in our centres we have installed additional signage, are working with our retailers to provide appropriate space for customer queues and have implemented signage at gathering points, including at our vertical transport locations, entry/exits and car parks, for guidance around effective social distancing in these areas.  

Each retailer also has signage to support this by communicating how many patrons they can accommodate in their space, given any current restrictions. We ask that you assist by always following all signage and directions when shopping in centre and being mindful of others around you.

 

Safety and Preventative Measures at Mirvac Retail Centres

The health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, retail partners, employees and our community is our highest mission.

 

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to keep our community safe, we implemented significant precautionary cleaning, hygiene and sanitising practices at the onset of the pandemic.

 

In addition to our existing rigorous cleaning and sanitising practices, we are taking additional measures which include but are not limited to:

- Increasing the frequency and intensity of our cleaning efforts of all commonly touched surfaces including seating, doors, lift controls, food courts, and amenities.

- Dettol gel sanitisation at convenient locations including entrances and exits.

- Actively encouraging the practice of good hygiene and preventative measures throughout the centre.

- Requiring all service providers to confirm they have not travelled overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

- Queuing and crowd management in our food courts during busy times

- Increased staff presence with blue COVIDSafe vests worn by staff to easily allow you to find help or assistance

- Increased hand sanitiser stations at car park pay stations and antibacterial and microbial silver-ionised safety film on all ticket machines and pay stations

- Introducing a contactless customer experience service and our Customer Support Centre which is contactable via phone, email, social media or SMS for extended hours every day of the week. 

 

We also continue to ensure we follow the latest advice and regulations from the Australian and State Governments as the situation unfolds.  

 

UPDATED: MONDAY 21 JUNE 2021

Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre has received confirmation from NSW Health that a customer, who tested positive to COVID-19, visited a number of stores in centre between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday 15 June.

 

The centre as a whole will be listed as a casual contact location. Therefore anyone who visited or worked in any part of Birkenhead Point between 10:00am and 2:00pm on Tuesday 15 June is a casual contact and must immediately get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. All casual contacts should also continue to monitor for symptoms and if symptoms occur, get tested again

 

The following stores are considered close contact, if you were there you must isolate and get tested immediately. You must also remain in isolation for 14 days regardless of testing negative.

- Country Road: 12:30pm - 1pm

  - Seed Heritage: 12:30pm - 1pm

  - Nike: 12:50pm - 1:15pm

  - The North Face: 11:35am - 11:50am

 

The following locations are considered casual contacts, if you were there you must get tested immediately and isolate until you receive a negative result.

  - Food Court Female bathroom: 10:50am - 11:10am

- Gozleme Turkish House: 10:50am - 10:55am

- Chemist Warehouse: 1:15pm - 1:25pm

  - The Outlet: 10:15am - 10:40am

  - Christensen Copenhagen: 10:30am - 11am

  - Sandro & Maje: 10:45am - 11am

  - ASICS: 11:20am - 11:40am

  - Top Juice: 11:15am - 11:20am

  - Bed Bath n' Table: 11:30am - 11:40am

  - Icebreaker: 11:40am - 11:45am

  - Adairs: 11:45am - 11:55am

  - Aldi: 12:35pm - 12:45pm

  - Priceline: 12:40pm - 12:50pm

 

The following locations have been advised to monitor for symptoms. If symptoms occur, get tested immediately and self isolate until you receive a negative result.

  - Birkenhead Point Brand Outlet: 11am - 2pm

  - Adventure Megastore: 11:40am - 12:30pm

  - Kathmandu: 11:40am - 12:30pm
- Macpac: 11:40am - 12:30pm

  - Papaya: 12:30pm - 12:45pm

 

Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre underwent a full centre clean on Tuesday evening, as it does each night as part of our regular cleaning regime introduced at the onset of the pandemic to assist in protecting our community and will undertake another deep clean with additional measures tonight. 

 

As this will impact a number of our retail staff, you may see some short term retail closures over the next couple of days and we ask for your patience while our operators assist NSW Health with their testing efforts.


We continue to co-operate with NSW Health and will keep all our customers and retailers informed and provide you with more information as we receive updates.

POP-UP TESTING CLINIC

In response to the positive case in centre, Laverty Pathology is operating a pop-up drive through COVID-19 testing clinic.

 

WHERE: Top Level of Birkenhead Point Carpark

TIMES: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

 

Patients attend collection point through drive through.

  - Please DO NOT get out of the vehicle at any time

  - Only accepting patients in vehicles, walk-ins not accepted

  - Patients should show their ID and Medicare Card, and request form (if you do not have a request form, one will be organised for you)

  - No booking required

  - All ages are welcome including children

- Throat and Nasal specimens (swab) are collected

- No blood/urine will be collected at this site

 

RESULTS

  - All results will be sent to the referring doctor

  - Negative results will be available to the patient via SMS if consent and mobile phone are provided


Community Update

In line with government guidelines the current Stay-at-Home order for Greater Sydney, including Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour will remain in place at least until 11:59PM on Friday 30 July 2021.

While our centre will remain open for essential shopping and services, a number of our retailers will remain closed.

We ask all of our community to please comply with Government requirements and wear a mask at all times whilst visiting and shopping in our centre. We also ask that you please check in using the Service NSW QR Check In app upon entering and remember to check out upon exiting the centre.

To confirm which stores are open and their opening hours, we recommend you call and check with individual stores as trading hours may vary during this time.

This is the latest measure taken to protect our community, adding to the significant additional precautionary cleaning, hygiene and sanitising practices in place in our centre since early March 2020.
